About Us
MISSON & VISON
Our Mission
To help families with autism in Collier County have the freedom to focus on what really matters—Happiness, Growth, and Independence.
Our Vision
A community focused on Happiness, Growth, & Independence for ALL. Autism Collier Resource Center is dedicated to empowering families by providing the support, resources, and education they need to thrive. Through parent and grandparent support groups, community training, and inclusive events, we aim to foster a stronger, more inclusive community.
OUR STORY
Autism Collier was founded with a simple yet powerful goal: to ensure that no family navigating autism has to do it alone.
What began as one mother’s search for resources and community quickly grew into a larger movement—one fueled by families, educators, advocates, and professionals who saw the urgent need for better access to support, services, and inclusion opportunities in Collier County.
In 2022, a defining moment highlighted the gaps in safety, inclusion, and accessibility for individuals with autism. This realization, shared by many in the community, strengthened the resolve to create lasting solutions. Autism Collier was founded later that year—not just as an organization, but as a collective effort to bring together the knowledge, compassion, and advocacy necessary to ensure that individuals with autism can thrive.
Today, Autism Collier is a trusted resource hub—offering families technical assistance, support groups, community events, and educational advocacy. It is powered by a dedicated team of parents, professionals, and self-advocates who believe in building a future where happiness, growth, and independence are accessible to all.

A Message from Our Founder
Stephanie Nordin
Dear Families, Advocates, and Supporters,
Autism Collier was born from a deeply personal journey—one filled with challenges, resilience, and faith. As a mother of twin boys with autism, I experienced firsthand the struggles families face in navigating services, finding support, and creating a path forward.
In 2022, I found myself in a place no parent ever wants to be—beside my son’s hospital bed, searching for answers, strength, and purpose. At that moment, I had a profound realization: this was bigger than me. I knew that I alone could not change the world, but I also knew that I had a choice—to say "yes" to what was ahead, to step into a calling that was greater than my own fears, and to trust that the path would unfold.
That willingness to say yes led to the creation of Autism Collier—not just as an organization, but as a community-driven movement where no family has to navigate autism alone. It is a place where parents, caregivers, and self-advocates find the support, education, and advocacy they need to thrive.
I invite you to be part of this journey with us. Whether you are here seeking resources, looking for connection, or hoping to make a difference, you are welcome. Together, we are shaping a future where individuals with autism can live with happiness, growth, and independence—and where no family has to say “yes” alone.
With gratitude,
Stephanie Nordin
